My body of work is a reflection of a fragmented, queer post-soviet identity grappling with belonging.
Born in Lithuania during the time of Soviet Union dissolution and having emigrated to the UK at the age of 10, I take personal experience as the point of departure to trace and question my displaced identity through image-making.
Fusing photography, painting and drawing; installation and performance; text and film, I explore the body as a site for personal mythology, identity formation, and transformation. I am interested in the liminal spaces, in aftermaths of societal landslides, and in personal and collective bearing of memory, trauma, and sexuality.
I live and work in London.
